Broadband (short for “broad bandwidth”) is the most common type of high-speed internet connection available that’s always on. It’s capable of transmitting data at speeds significantly faster than dial-up internet access.

The FCC’s current broadband internet requirements are a minimum download speed of 25 Mbps and 3 Mbps upload speed—Lumos offers symmetrical speeds at a minimum of 200 Mbps.
