    Brian Stading

    Chief Executive Officer

    Brian Stading is the Chief Executive Officer at Lumos. Reporting to Lumos’ Board of Directors, he joins the Lumos executive team with a bold growth plan to expand the company’s 100% Fiber Internet network to over one million homes in the next five years. Brian has a track record of proven leadership and success that spans over 30 years of experience at telecommunications companies, including Ziply, CenturyLink and Qwest. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration at Aurora University and a master’s from the Kellogg Graduate School of Business at Northwestern University.

    Shane Ward

    Chief Financial Officer

    Shane Ward is Chief Financial Officer for Lumos, leading all financial strategy, forecasting, analysis, accounting, and controls. With more than 24 years of diverse accounting and finance experience, he previously served as Chief Financial Officer for CTI Towers. During his tenure at CTI Towers, Shane navigated the company through sustained growth with $70 million in mergers and acquisitions transactions involving Vyve, Mediacom, and Cable One, expanding from an initial four towers to more than 1,100. Prior to CTI, he was the Director of Corporate Accounting for American Tower Corporation. Shane is a Chartered Accountant CA(SA) and a graduate of the University of South Africa.

    Chief Network Officer

    David Smith is Chief Network Officer for Lumos, leading operations, engineering, outside plant, facilities, supply chain, safety, and product development teams. He has over 15 years of experience in information technology and telecommunications and has held numerous business management leadership roles, including Booz Allen consulting. David holds a B.S. in Information Systems Management from Bridgewater College and an MBA from Averett University.

    A.J. Brown

    Chief Legal Officer

    A.J. Brown is Chief Legal Officer for Lumos, leading the company’s legal, regulatory, and government affairs work.  With over 15 years of legal experience, she previously held positions as Counsel to the Energy and Commerce Committee’s Subcommittee on Communications and Technology in the United States House of Representatives and as Legal Advisor to the Federal Communications Commission’s Incentive Auction Task Force, among others. A.J. earned a B.A. in Economics from Bates College and a J.D. from Yale Law School.

    Scott Roy

    Chief Human Resources Officer

    Scott Roy is Chief Human Resources Officer for Lumos, leading the company’s employee engagement and organizational culture initiatives. With extensive experience in executive human resources leadership roles both domestically and globally, Scott has been in human resources leadership roles for various manufacturing entities such as Caparo Bull Moose, SPX, Faurecia Automotive, and Doosan Construction Equipment Co., ranging from multi-million to multi-billion dollars in revenue. He received a BA degree from Bowdoin College as well as Mind Spring in Asheville, NC, and finance for non-financial managers at Insead in Paris.

    Tony DeGregorio

    Chief Information Officer

    Tony DeGregorio is Head of IT Transformation for Lumos, leading the company’s digital strategy, cybersecurity and IT transformational enablement activities. Tony brings more than 30 years’ of IT leadership experience with global organizations. Tony previously served as Senior Vice President and Chief Information Officer at Harsco Corporation and, earlier in his career was Chief Information Officer at Tyco Flow Control, a division of Tyco International, now Johnson Controls. Tony served in the US Navy and subsequently received an Associate of Science degree in Electro-Mechanical Drafting and Design from the American Institute of Design in Philadelphia, PA.

    Vice President of Marketing

    Karen Hoch is Vice President of Marketing for Lumos, leading marketing, demand gen, and customer experience functions. She is an accomplished marketing leader with over 15 years of experience in various industries and agency roles. Karen holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Salem College and is currently earning her master’s in digital communication at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

    Vice President of Sales and Care

    Chris Peeples is Vice President of Sales and Care for Lumos, leading strategy, operations and industry-leading performance. He has 30 years of experience in sales, marketing, and product leadership roles with telecommunications companies, including Comcast, Verizon, Alltel, and CenturyLink. Chris earned a bachelor’s degree in Business at the University of Louisiana in Monroe.

    Derek Kelly

    Vice President of Market Development

    Derek Kelly is the Vice President of Market Development for Lumos, leading government affairs and expansion strategy initiatives. His team engages external partners within local and state government and the community to form public-private partnerships and increase Lumos’ impact in communities. Derek has more than 20 years of industry experience with leadership roles in sales, operations, and government relations. Derek also serves as the Virginia Broadband Industry Association president, promoting members’ interests that affect the broadband industry. He is also the vice-chairman of the Kramden Institute, a North Carolina non-profit focused on providing technology tools and training to bridge the digital divide.

    Nora Mitchell

    Corporate Controller

    Nora Mitchell is Corporate Controller of Lumos, overseeing all financial operations and reporting, along with vital treasury and tax functions. Before joining the company, Nora worked at Segra, where she served as senior director, assistant controller and director of accounting. Nora has extensive experience in accounting and finance with nTelos and in the auditing practice at Ernst & Young. Nora earned an M.S. degree in accounting as well as her BBA degree in accounting from James Madison University. She is an active CPA in the state of Virginia.

    Executive Director

    Breanna (Bre) Grandstaff is the Executive Director for Lumos. With extensive experience supporting executive teams, Bre has dedicated her professional career to ensuring cross-functional alignment and improving processes for strategic initiatives in fast-paced, high-pressure environments. Her previous experience includes roles at CenturyLink and fourteen years of service in the United States Army as a combat medic. Bre holds an MBA from the University of Phoenix.
