Friday, July 12th was a great day to be at NorthState! The weather was beautiful, and we spent the morning hosting our friend and colleague, Greg Pittman, founder of Cause Roast. Greg visited three NorthState offices and HQ Greensboro to introduce his new coffee bus, a retrofitted 1972 VW bus.

Cause Roast is a premium, direct-trade coffee company that uses a portion of its earnings to provide clean water in parts of the world where the need is the greatest. The company believes that the consumption of coffee has the power to change the world and has a goal to provide the highest quality, fair-trade and direct-trade coffee that gives back to the world’s greatest cause and need: clean water.
The Cause Roast Coffee Tour is a continuation of a longstanding partnership between Cause Roast and NorthState. In early 2018, Cause Roast was one of four entrepreneurial businesses selected to participate in the inaugural NorthState Tech Lab at HQ Greensboro. Greg’s goal, after completing Tech Lab, was to scale his business to include a coffee bus to be able to bring coffee and his Cause to the local community. With the help of the NorthState Tech Lab and Greg’s determination, his goal became a reality.
We are so excited for Greg and wish him continued success!
